Pangasinan’s Pista’y Dayat Festival (Sea Festival) is a yearly celebration as a thanksgiving festival for the bountiful harvest and abundant fishing from the sea in the Province of Pangasinan.
It is a two weeks celebration with full of fun and exciting events like; Panag-arte-la Art Exhibit, Pangasinan Tourism & Agri-Trade Expo, Paboksing ed Golpo, Beach Volleyball, Sand Sculpting Competition, Boat Painting competition, Banca Parada, and Pageant Night (Limgas na Pangasinan).
Sand Sculpting Competition is one of the most awaited activities of Pista’y Dayat Festival. And this year, the there were two (2) categories in Sand Sculpting Competition; The Young Adult Category and Family Category. In the Young Adult Category, the contest was strictly open to groups composed of eight (8) members regardless of gender. However, this category is limited to twenty (20) participating groups aged 18-30 years old. And in the Family Category, the group is composed of the immediate family members (father,mother and children) minimum of five (5) and maximum of eight (8). Participants create sand sculpture with the theme: ” Say Dayat Ko, Kasuldungay Bilay Ko”.
